“Maria Stuart” portrays the life of the Scottish queen Mary Queen of Scots. An article from Geo Epoche was used as the basis for the illustrations and magazine layout. The visual language is characterised by a plethora of details that captures the zeitgeist of the 16th century. The illustrations were created as traditional pencil drawings and later digitally coloured. To complement the style of the images throughout the rest of the layout hand-drawn initials were incorporated.

I shortened the text I used in this project myself. The original was published in GEO EPOCHE Nr. 84: GEO EPOCHE Schottland under the title MARIA STUART: DIE GLÜCKLOSE.
